I'm doing a last minute interview with Anberlin tomorrow in Rochester, NY.

If you have any questions for the band, please send them my way! I'd love to incorporate them into the interview if possible! :)

advice/support needed

What do you do when you personally know that you have changes to make in your life?
Those changes are not going to make you "popular with your friends",
they aren't going to understand you nor really support you through these times.
What do you do when you need your friends to be your backbone through these changes?
I don't want to distance myself from them, but with these choices I will be.

Who do you turn to then?

I'm broke.
I'm unhappy.

Things that make me happy cost money.
It costs money to get to people that I love/miss.

Every day is a new day,
a new day is a new opportunity,
a new opportunity is a chance for change,
a chance for change is a new hope,
I need hope.

November 22, 2008

11/22/2008

I've had a lot on my mind lately and not the patience or ability to put my thoughts into coherent sentences.

I don't want to be safe.
I never want someone to say that they are with me because I'm the safe bet.
I want to have uncontrollable, irresistible, and irrevocable love.
The sort of love that can't be contained and confined in just three words.

I've played the safe road before, it didn't work out.
I found out that I lost myself along the way and didn't realize it until it was almost too late.

That's what makes me different from you.

I take chances. I never want to be wondering what if? What if I did more? I know that I've done everything in my power in all situations and in the end, I'm the one who just has to let go.

I wear a key around my neck to remind me to keep my heart locked tight. Only to release it to those who actually deserve it. But how do you ever know who just has a front up? When I realize that someone new may be getting too close, I push away. I'm well aware of the fact that I do it. If that person truly cares, they'll push back won't they?

I don't fall easily, but when I do I fall hard.

I've had some good talks with some friends lately, with the help of them and some of my favorite artists I've finally found some clarity with present situations.

I'm happy that I am the way that I am. I'm okay with the way that I wear my heart. Those who deserve it see it and experience it to it's fullest. Although, some that don't deserve it make their way in, I wouldn't have it any other way. From those people I've learned more about myself and the others around me. Some people don't deserve unconditional love and you just have to let them go before your own heart is soured by the negativity they bring.

Distance is just a measure of time. Time is worth it. I've always been able to overlook distance because it can always be changed and overcome. Distance is computable, while love is boundless.

Most of my favorite people in the world are far away from me. I see them for short times. Those short times though are some of the best moments, moments I want to forever hold on to. Because those moments, however short they are, are worth it. They are filled with joy & love, with appreciation. Everyone makes the most of those times because we don't know when the next may be.

I feel at home not in any certain building or city. I feel at home when I'm surrounded by the people that see me for who I am. The people who appreciate and understand me just the way I am, when I'm with those people - I'm home.

I miss always feeling at home.

It's getting old...

I have a tendency to get what I want.
I may get what I want but I only see it for a glimmer and then it fades away.

I was talking with twinny earlier and I came to a brilliant realization/analogy for my life...

I'm sick of life throwing me curve-balls when all I'm trying to do is play t-ball.

Imagine standing up at a t-ball plate, the ball is rested on the little stand and then by the time you go to take your swing you have a 72 mph curve ball coming at you.

That's my life, for serious.

I went to DC for a vacation, ended up seeing Jason, going to the zoo, eating sushi at Mei Wah, & going to my favorite smithsonian (natural history). We also went to Jammin Java where I got ridiculously intoxicated off of Jameson and we went to North Carolina the next day to see the same show (Danger Radio, Farewell, & Red Car Wire).

I'm home and I'm no more relaxed than I was before I left,
if anything my mind is in more of a bubble then ever.

I'm ready for a drastic change.
Now I just need to make a decision...

Easier said than done....

I'd rather have a sleepless night than another one spent wasted replaying our last scene...

Three words that scare me...

I love you.

Seriously, those three words.
I found myself using them again, carelessly.
When did I become so careless again?
For months I refused to use them with anyone that wasn't family, minus one best friend.
Then I began to use them with friends again.
Then I found myself using them carelessly, saying them when I really didn't mean them.
How did these words lose their meaning yet again?

Love ya, love you, luv you, and love yew - those aren't I love you.
Never have been, never will be, at least with my eyes and ears.

How hard is it when you know they aren't ringing true?
When it hurts to hear them instead of feeling that warmness.

I believe in my life I've heard those three words from one person that meant them and continue to.
And I believe to this day, he is the only person I've said them to and truly meant them.

So how do words lose their meaning?
How does a simple phrase that people yearn to hear turn into something that's said when it isn't true?
When I use those words, I mean them, if only everyone else did as well.

With all this being said, I miss him.
I think a visit is needed soon.
I need my best friends.

Only two more...

Finally, I've gotten through (most) of my Warped Tour photos. I have to finish up my Darien Lake (Buffalo), NY ones and my Uniondale, NY photos. Cleveland, Detroit, Mississauga, Montreal and Camden are finished in all their glory. The highlights have been uploaded here on Buzznet while the full sets can be found on my flickr.

I'm trying to push through because I have even more that I have to edit. I had the pleasure of shooting Jesse McCartney two days ago! I have tons of photographs from before Warped Tour that I never got around to editing as well as photos from my niece's soccer game.

Aka, I have thousands of photos to go through and edit! Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just got behind and then pushed even FURTHER behind.

Tomorrow is my birthday! The big 2-3. Wow, I'm old.

Have a good one and check out all the photos I've updated! :)

1,000 photographs!

I just realized that I have hit 1,000 photographs here on buzznet!

I also realized the fact that I would have reached 1,000 a long time ago if I ever stayed constant with updating. I tend to take a leave of absence from the internet from time to time. I've been working on my constant struggle with the fact that I am so wired to everything that goes on online from day to day and how I interact with others.

In the long run, I've realized that without the internet I wouldn't have met, become closer with, or stayed in close contact with so many of my friends these days. Without those friends? I don't know what I would do!

I hope everyone enjoys the photographs I've been uploading over the past week. I love being able to bring moments in time to other individuals for their own enjoyment. Feel free to drop me a comment, critique or note anywhere! I love to keep in contact with everyone.

Summer Hair Forever Young... - Warped Tour 2008

I have been officially "Warped-less" for five days. Those five days feel like five years. It's weird how in two weeks you can adapt your life so easily to certain things/events/people. I miss the people I saw on a daily basis, was given hugs by, high fives, hearing ridiculously amazing music playing in the background of my entire day, taking photos of stellar people/bands and meeting new people every moment.

Warped Tour
always holds a special place in my heart, I guess that's why the decision I may have to make in a couple months is so hard. An entire summer without even ONE Warped? I guess this is growing up...

The top five things I miss about Warped Tour:
5) Having a constant live soundtrack to my day...
4) Daily/hourly hugs & high-fives from my new favorite people.
3) Acoustic sets of my favorite bands due to torrential downpours, & being able to photograph them!
2) Yard-long Margarita Happy Hours.
1) 3OH!3 dance parties and/or Bus dance parties.

Seriously, if you haven't been to Warped Tour yet (or are going again) do NOT miss
3OH!3, Mayday Parade, or The Academy Is... sets. You'll be sorry if you do!

I'm still not done editing and uploading my photographs from the dates I attended. I had so many technological issues when I was out, my phone refused to turn on and my computer started smoking (both in
Cleveland aka Day 1). Luckily, in Boston (tour off day, but Day 6) the Apple Store treated me well with a new cord for my PowerBook and the T-Mobile Store treated me grandly with a new plan and a new Blackberry Curve! :) Due to the set backs, half of my photographs are located on Kristie's computer which I will hopefully be obtaining sometime this week! :D

For now? Here are some of my favorite shots! Check out the rest on my
flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/audiolove .

Until next time,
xoxo audio love.

Home sweet home.... or something?

Hey buzznetters,

I got home a bit ago and figured before I jumped into my own bed I'd check in with all of you! Warped Tour was glorious, met some amazing people, made new friends, hung out with old friends, ran into people I haven't seen since I moved from DC, took part in some amazing interviews and photographed some sickkkk bands.

After all of that, what happens when I come home? Person L is streaming their new album on their purevolume! Super hella stoked to hold that album in my hand, yes I pre-ordered it, you should too! (or at least go check it out at purevolume.com/personl)

Tomorrow major photo editing will occur, I put up a teaser just now so I hope you enjoy it! I can't wait to show you all the shots I took in Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Buffalo, Camden & Long Island! There was plenty of rain but I'm really not complaining because I was able to see AvA & Anberlin do acoustic sets in Toronto due to it!

I also can't wait until Tuesday because I miss people already and I'll be at Pittsburgh Warped, my last one for the year :(

There is a lot going on in my world right now, new decisions to be made. I always find myself trapped in the situation that I have to choose which direction of the road to veer off to. I'm at one of those pivotal landmarks right now. Do I pick road one or road two? Or do I just park in the middle and decide to dance in the rain?

the concept of listening...

Does anyone truely listen these days?

It is so easy to pick up a cell phone and text while you are having a face to face conversation. It's so easy during a video chat to be holding five other IM conversations while "talking". While on the phone there are so many distractions and things going on around you, you could be writing an email, letter, painting, reading, driving, hell...you could be doing anything!

With technology these days, does anyone ever listen? We have so many ways and means of getting our words out there but are they ever really grasped?

I was trying to have a heart to heart conversation with someone earlier today and they pulled out their phone and started texting. Here I was, pouring my heart out and they felt the need to text someone and then in turn ask me to repeat myself. It was hard enough to say the first time, did I really need to repeat myself?

Moments like the above are reasons why I've kept to myself so much. Some days I just want to void myself of all communication means except being face to face with someone. What happened to putting away all those "distractions" when you're spending time with people you enjoy spending time with?

Does anyone remember the days of having to ride your bike to your friends house just to see if they could play? We never thought twice of it. These days you can just text a friend and see where they are and what they want to do. You could talk to people for days straight and never see them. Granted, I'm not 100% complaining because texting/cell phones/video chat have made my life a lot easier and helped me keep in contact with those in other states that I can't see on a daily basis.

But what about those friends that live right around the corner? Can we start taking the time to go grab a cup of coffee and physically see one another? Or has that just become an inconvenience in this digital world?
